چکیده

The possibility of servicing lifelines such as highways, railways, pipelines, and tunnels is great social importance. characteristic that separates the buried pipeline from other structures its dimensions are very long compared to dimensions. Ground vibrations caused by earthquakes, construction activities, traffic, explosions, machinery can damage these structures. Lifeline integrity be compromised in two ways: (1) direct due excessive dynamic loading lifeline, (2) indirect soil failures liquefaction, slope instability, differential settlements. 3D printing (also known additive manufacturing) an advanced manufacturing process automatically produce complex geometric shapes a computer-aided design model without tools, molds, or fixtures. This automated has been applied diverse industries today because it revolutionize industry with expected benefits. research study on performance pipelines under static loads structure's safety against possible development progressive failure. includes numerical study, where was studied many parameters value pipeline. (a) material (steel, traditional concrete, concrete printed), (b) thickness (20, 30, 40 mm), (c) type (moist sandy soil, saturated moist cohesive soil). Different results were obtained depending all materials' behavior similar case soil. Doi: 10.28991/CEJ-2022-08-01-01 Full Text: PDF

Testing of Buried Pipelines Using Guided Waves

Introduction The inspection requirements of pipes that have an operational history of many tens of years have lead to the adoption of new maintenance practices and safety standards. The solution currently considered as best maintenance practice is the direct assessment of 100% of the pipelines with the minimum possible economical impact. The use of RBI (Risk Based Inspection) methods and the in...

Detection of Bending Stresses in Buried Pipelines

When gas or oil pipelines must be laid through sand or permafrost or other unstable soils, the pipe walls can he subjected to large bending loads if the soil shifts. In order to detect this condition and correct it, it would be useful to monitor the state of stress along the pipeline'at regular time intervals using a vehicle that is moved through the line by the fluid or gas in it. The experime...

ANOVELMONITORINGTECHNIQUE TO DEFINE CP CRITERIA FOR BURIED PIPELINES UNDER AC CORROSION CONDITION

Abstract: The risks of alternating current (AC) corrosion and overprotection increasingly demand new criteria forcathodically protected pipelines. To assess the risk of AC corrosion, new cathodic protection (CP) criteria have beenproposed based on DC/AC current densities measurements using coupons. The monitoring system designed for thisproject was based on the instant-off method, with steel co...

Behavior of foam glass aggregate under static loads

Foam glass aggregate is produced in a controlled production process. Due to its low density and thermal conductivity foam glass aggregate offers a broad variety of applications. Based on extensive laboratory tests foam glass aggregate is investigated in the scope of a joint research project performed at Vienna University of Technology and University of Innsbruck. The mechanical properties of si...

Parametric Study of the Empty and Foam-Filled End-Capped Conical Tubes under quasi Static and Dynamic impact Loads

This paper investigates the parametric study of the empty and foam-filled end-capped tubes under quasi static and dynamic loadings. The numerical crash analysis of the empty and foam-filled tubes was performed using the explicit finite element code ABAQUS- explicit. Satisfactory agreements were generally achieved between the numerical and experimental results. In order to determine the crash be...
